In winter the Labská Meadow is covered with snow, and the winter season often lasts more than 6 months. The snow often reaches two or three metres.
The water source, the concrete well ring elevated 1386 metres above sea level is, in fact, just a symbol. The real river source is located a little higher. The wall built near the source displays 26 colour coats of arms of the cities and towns situated on the Elbe River. The source of the Elbe was consecrated in 1648 but the place was arranged in the present state in 1968.
The locality is accessible from the Labská Bouda (1 km) or from the Zlaté Návrší (3 km).
